Does anyone know what this indent is for on the 2015 24 foot boats?

That's what I was thinking, but looking at the pictures of them on the Yamaha website it didn't look like anything was there. Hopefully someone with an SX will chime in.

It is where the anchor light pole would go if it did not have a tower.

If you do drill and mount something in there, make sure you use really good stainless hardware (even cheap stainless steel will rust) and seal it really well. Water will sit in there.
