Heading over to BMC on Thursday to pickup our 242 Limited S E. Think I got a great deal and looking forward to hitting the water. We live in Flagler Beach and water to explore the inter costal and the St Johns river. I have learned a ton from reading all of the posts. I have made the crossing to Bimini on a 70ft boat several times. If I grow a pair I might try it. Thank you for all of your information.

Congrats on the new boat.....you WILL love it.....Our 2016 is more than we could have hoped for! I would love to do the Bimini sometime too, but dont think the wife would be up for it......she doesnt do well in rough water :)

This a newbie question but where do you guys get your ropes, bumpers and other essential items for your boat? I got the anchor and the Fire extinguisher included, see I do read your posts.

I get them wherever I can find them the cheapest.....but then I am a skinflint :) If not Academy, or Bass Pro.....Amazon, Iboats, West Marine are good options.

I got a lot of my stuff from Overtons and Amazon. Overtons has some good deals occasionally where they have 15 or 20% off.

Lol... fyi... ropes will just be the start.. we bought our boat two years ago and I told my wife all we needed was some good ropes and some fenders........... I have not stopped buying stuff for the boat yet. we have a box with a chart plotter and a vhf radio sitting in our living room now waiting to be installed...

My wife has officially cut me off. I think the stacks of overton and amazon boxes did me in. So much to buy so little time.... lol

Right... And that is when all the hiding stuff, lying about it begins! It is a slippery slope my friend.

How do I know? Well... I tell my wife (looking strait in her eyes) RIVA Racing ribbon delete spacers are "required items for SeaDek install". When my L13 cones show up -- I tell her those were for "routine pump maintenance", and safety.

I think we need Jetboaters Anonimous here (JA). Anyone?
(Hi, my name is Swatski and I am a jet boat addict...)

Have things delivered to the office. Then you don't have to hide the cardboard. :) If the wife asks about anything later, just tell her you've had it for a long time. It took my wife a full year to realize that all boats don't come with underwater LEDs installed. ;)

And @swatski, you're a Jetboaters Lieutenant. I'm an addict.
