What are other primary difference between a 2008-2009 212ss? I know the X has the ballast and wakeboard tower with tower racks. I also know that the SS has the captains chair on the passenger starboard side.

What about the windshield and is is indeed shorter than the other models? There are a couple of SS models I my area. I'm trying to decided if this a good family boat for a family of five.

Sounds like you got it covered.

-No tower (racks, mirror)
-Ballast
-Co pilots chair
- shorter windshield

It's hard to get it off the wind with the shorter windshield. That would be a concern for the wife and kids.

Do you know how much shorter the windshield is or can you give an impression of how much more wind it allows into the cockpit over a standard windshield height?

I would guess that an SS windshield is around 8" tall where a X is around 2'6".

In 2010 they came with the same windshield.

Thanks. What about a '12?

BTW, can't wait to see your new boat. The last one looked fantastic!

Thank you. I've been scratching my head on what to do to it to set it apart from all the others that I assume will be on here.

Only seen one stripper pole so far . . . Just sayin. Custom graphics for the side hull? Looks like you have the basics covered so far in your planned mods list.

I'm pretty sure the 08-10 212ss has wrap around seating just like the 212x. There is no captains chair on the passenger side . I think they added that in 2012

Excellent, thanks gentlemen!
