Hey everyone,

I have a 2019 SX195 with the TP1800B-U engine and I have a new exhaust gasket that matches the original exactly. I initially thought the gaskets had a symmetrical design but there is a slight difference. Depending on how the gasket is oriented, the asymmetrical metered water passage holes can be toward the front or rear of the engine. Completely symmetrical in any other way and everything lines up as it should.

These metering holes manage exhaust heat differently based on the thermal cooling efficiency of the head/exhaust manifold so getting it installed correctly is important. The photos show one orientation where both match and areas of concern are circled in green. If I flip one around, front back, you can now see the metering holes, circled in red, are not the same.

Does anyone have a definitive answer on the proper orientation? The service manual does not specify which way is correct.

Best
Mike

From the look on this impression it should only go one way, match that spot with what made it either from the engine of the manifold
