First time on new to me Scarab 195 - code P2428

Took out the new to me 2021 Scarab 195 ID Wake for the maiden voyage with the family today. Ran fine for a little while and then the P2428 error code came up. If I slow down the error stopped it I speed back the error came up again.

I opened the engine cover and felt the waterbox - felt hot to the touch. Almost burn your finger hot but not quite...still pretty damn hot in case that matters.

Not sure where to start looking. Guessing because the water box was hot that there is a clog somewhere?

How can I troubleshoot?

should start by replacing the sensor? even tho it felt hot?

how do I check for blockage?

The intake is inside the pump. I'd inspect your pump very well. But otherwise not much can get in except sand or mud. There's a small grill there. So unless you were running the engine in super shallow water... Any blockage should be visible inside the pump.

I didn't see anything in the jet pump. Wondering what do check next?

Take the sensor out and clean it, spray some contact cleaner in the connections as well, trace/check wiring for any issues going to the sensor - make sure the insulation isn't melted or something causing any shorts back the the ecm. Do you have the command screen where you can see the engine temps? Are they higher than expected under accelerated driving?
