Reminds me of an old Army story my Dad told: He was drafted to fight in the Korean War.

It was early on in his career and he was put on K.P. for the first time. Well, they had this big tumbler for peeling potatoes. (Think clothes drier with cheese-grater teeth around the outside edge.) They told him to peel the potatoes. Unfortunately, they never mentioned how long he was supposed to run it. He started out with big Idaho Bakers and ended with perfectly round potatoes about 3/4 the size of a golf ball. He said the guy in charge of the Mess went nuts. (This was neither the first nor the last time he got a good butt-chewing for not knowing how to do something... :))
