Desperately seeking an expert Seadoo Mechanic up in Canada for 2003 Utopia 205
This boat and motor are in great shape. Well maintained but recently had an issue with it shutting down at higher speeds or only running at lower speed.
The issue is finding a Seadoo boat mechanic that is qualified and willing to work on this boat. We are located near Ottawa Canada but the boat is in North Bay and I am willing to drive it to someone elsewhere in Ontario if I am convinced they are the right people to work on the boat.
If not I will be forced to sell as is.

I'm from Ottawa and happen to originally be from sturgeon falls (for those reading and know nothing of this area, it neighbors North Bay, small world).

Sadly yeah, I have yet to find any marina willing to work on BRP boats that they don't sell. I think you'll have to find someone who is a backyard mechanic type that knows Sea-Doo engines well. I don't have any specific references. By brother in law does some (in n sturgeon), but there's a good chance this turns into a fishing expedition trying to diagnose the problem.

Any fault codes? When was the last time your coolant was replaced? Sounds like an overheating problem.

Hey Luc...thx for the reply. Our cottage is near South River/Sundridge if you know that area.
No fault codes at all. Coolant has not been replaced recently. The mechanic thought he had it working fine it ripped down the lake then they turned, came back across the wake and it died so he then wondered if the impact of the wave shook up something.

I know the area although don't go there ever lol. Just the famous car commercial.

I'd check that coolant. Go to Canadian Tire, get a hydrometer. Super inexpensive. Check the coolant rating. It's supposed to be replaced every 2 years if it's the green stuff. 5 years for the newer orange stuff. I'm guessing you have the green possibly non XPS coolant. Which is fine IF it's capable of cooling your engine. At least rule that out. But yeah, it's entirely possible it's a loose wire. Bad ground somewhere.
