Sea Rayder F16XR Shift Cable Replacement

I'm having some trouble on whether to drop the wear ring in order to remove the shift cable or can I just remove the bulkhead nuts without removing the wear ring and then pull the cable from the inside to remove it? Also, would this cable be 8FT or 9FT lenght? Haven’t removed it yet.

What products can help clean the steering wheel?
