TheHullHistory.com CONFIRMED SCAM

I have a buyer who is insisting on a complete history report (like a carfax) on my boat from TheHullHistory.com.
It seems like a scam to me.
Do any of you have any insight into TheHullHistory.com?

I would say scam. A lot of bad found in a search. Why not just use a local marine surveyor or appraiser. https://www.marinesurvey.org/surveyors/
Let them pay. Surveyors are usually hired by the buyer.

I agree it's probably a scam.
Surveyors typically won't look at boats the size of a 210FSH.

We have had a few done. The smallest was a 31' O'Day. They are paid by the foot and a 21' jetboat would not take long, if they are familiar with jet drives. It is not like they will spend a few hours tapping the hull and topsides for spongy spots. Checking the electrical/mechanical systems and engines. Not much to check unless they do compression checks. Most don't. They just run the motors on a seatrial.

100% a scam, they own the site and will keep the money and/or steal your credit card details. Have my boat for sale currently and have had a few of them.

Ha, just got another one right now. "thehullhistory.com" and "inspectwheels.com" appear to be the scam sites of choice these days, the latter got a chuckle out of me.

It should be on the buyer's dime to have any kind of of survey/inspection performed. The seller should not pay for one by request of a buyer. A seller should not let a potential buyer hire a surveyor/inspector to look at a vessel unless an offer has been accepted and a deposit, in case of damage, has been paid to the seller. The Offer/deposit is contingent on outcome of the survey. This keeps away the scammers and tire kickers. My $.02

This was my final response to the scammer:

I will NOT put my credit card info on that website.
If you are a serious buyer here are my terms.

1. Show up at 4:00 today as agreed.
2. Provide a 10% deposit.
3. I will give you $75.
4. You can input your credit card info.
5. You get the report.
6. If you don’t show you are a scammer and we are done.

Needless to say NO SHOW.

Definitely a scam. Had the same thing with a dirt bike I recently sold. I'm like "I can certainly guarantee it has been wrecked more than I can count" LOL so it was an easy red flag that he didn't understand the nature of what he was supposedly interested in. It's not up to you do their research anyway.
