Wake Tower Pin keeps popping out. Whats it for?

I keep having this pin on both sides pop out of the wake tower on my GTS187. The pin is located at the front bottom of each tower base. I keep hammering it back in its place, does any one know what its intended use is?

That's basically a hinge-pin (for folding the tower), does it have a retention clip that's missing? Could be on the other side.
