Looking for recommendations for what others think is the best rear-view mirror. Can you please share what model you have and what you like about it?

I bought this one from CIPA after reading great reviews but it doesn’t seem to fit the window frame of my 2020 AR 240 very well. I’m ready to send it back.

Also, what do you guys do about putting the mooring cover on with the mirror clamp sticking up on the windshield? How do you keep from that becoming a weak spot, especially when traveling with the cover on? Do you take it off every time you cover the boat because that would be extra annoying.

Please share a pic if you have one!

hard to tell if yours is the same model i bought from member on this site. guessing we should have the same window frame and the bracket stays solid on my frame, but the mirror does walk it's way down over chop as discussed in the thread above. have to adjust it back up occasionally.
just used the black mooring cover on trip for first time, put a slotted noodle over window frame under cover. i didn't notice the bracket causing issue, will take a look at it and report back

I bought this one back in 2020 and it's been phenomenal. Hasn't fallen off once. I actually have it installed on the port side window frame vs drives side as it allows for better view behind the boat when I'm standing and driving, which is pretty much 90% of the time.

Can you upload a photo of yours mounted? I’d like to see if it’s looks the same where the bracket grips the frame.

The PTM Pro that comes with the X series boats is fantastic and hard to beat, but it's pricey when it doesn't come with the boat.

I use the CIPA mirror in the original post. It doesn’t fit perfect but I haven’t had any major issues with it. I use the thinner rubber pads that came with it.

Overall it’s worth the cost and a huge upgrade from the suction cup mirror. We don’t do enough towing to justify spending hundreds on a mirror.

I do not trailer with a cover but I would probably take it off for that, or do the noodle thing referenced above.

I have what I believe to be the same mirror. 4x11 size.

Used on my 2012 SX210 and now on a 252SD.

Never removed when I used the cover, but like the pool noodle idea.

The mirror does have a little movement in it, but I believe it’s only on the vertical axis and occasionally will require a slight adjustment. I am sure there are better fitting mirrors, but from a cost standpoint, well worth the $40-50.

Found a knockoff one of these on eBay, long ago. That is what I am using. Don't have a good pic of just it, but here is the boat from last weekend....20250720_103207.jpg

I like that machined look that attaches to the tower but I haven’t seen one long enough for an AR. Plus the longer it is, the more I imagine it would bounce and vibrate.
