What's this wire?

As I was finishing up getting my 2021 AR250 ready for its long winter nap, I noticed this wire may be a little frayed. Can anybody tell me what this wire is/does? And will it be as simple as just cleaning it up a bit when I get the boat out next spring? Pay no attention to the silicone overspray there.

It’s a bonding wire..it keeps electrolysis from occurring by keeping the potential difference between the directional nozzle and the the rest of the pump at 0 volts.

You should replace this wire before it breaks.

It is used to complete a "circuit" between the zincs, or other type anodes and metal/aluminum boat parts that do not have anodes directly attached to the part. Outboards use them too, to ward off galvanic corrosion.

When I see the word "electrolysis" used around boats, I refer to this guy. A lot of info within, if you select Home Port or any link. Great pictures from a surveyors point of view.

It's description says "Wire, Lead 4"

Partzilla has them for $7 so I'll just add that to the list of misc things to order after holiday bills get paid in Jan so I'm ready for the spring. May as well order two of them.
