I don't want to flood the General forums with something like this, and yet, we don't really have regions set up or anything. Honestly, the other site they really didn't get used much anyways but maybe an event or something a year. I figured if I'm going out on the big lake, Lake Michigan, others may be going out as well, and it may be nice to meet up and say hi. I don't want to clog up important stuff for something so small as that, but just wondered where something like that would be posted up? It's not really a destination or an official gathering, so where ya want it?

I would post in gatherings. If needed we can create a separate forum in the future.

Hey I'm headed to Broken Bow this weekend, come join!

I'm in Laughlin right now. Out on lake Mohave by day, golden nugget by night.

I'm headed to Lake Zumbro tonight.

I'm headed to the Suwannee River this weekend

We'll be up on Swinging Bridge Lake, N.Y. Thur-Tuesday.

I'm headed to Broken Bow myself this weekend! Maybe I will raft up with you @maboat :winkingthumbsup" It is the Tex/Okla/Ark gathering! Maybe we should call it the Okla/Tex/Ark since it is in Okla this year! LOL

lol....thats funny! Thankfully those idiots have moved on to a different river

Before they sunk Logzilla, I saw it while it was being stored at McDuffies Marine when they were not filming. It was a total piece of crap...they beat that boat to death!

Maybe we can make a list of lakes and list members that frequent those lakes. By doing this when/ if people want info on the lake or want to meet up they can easily hashtag that member or pm them. Makes it simple.
Call out a sticky thread called "Day Trippers" or something like that to stick the list in. It could also help if you are on one of these lakes and need help. Response would be much quicker.
Just a thought.
@Bruce @Julian etc..

Byram cove on Lake hopatcong NJ this Sunday!

At home staining a handrail this weekend...

We could create a Favorite Boating Locations Forum, sort it by Title, and make sure everyone's titled are formatted like "State, Lake Name" - "NC, Falls Lake" for example. Then members could "watch" the threads they are interested in?

Another option is to create Usergroups by locations. This would also allow members to @ that user group. Like [USERGROUP=4]@Moderating[/USERGROUP] (which I need to hear from moderators if this is working now--it suppresses a notice to the author if they are a member)

But if we did that for Lake Powell, would it be UT, Lake Powell or AZ, Lake Powell? Or CO, Lake Powell since it's the "Colorado River"? I think just the lake name would be best. Split it by region: West Coast, Mountain, Central, North East, South East US. Or something like that and then when people post, they should just make the topic the lake name and the date. For example:

I would post in Mountain and say:

Topic: Lake Powell 9/24 - 6/2

Content: Staying on the houseboat out for the last trip @ Powell for the year (with the ski boat at least). Right now, 7 people are RSVP, got room for ~15 ;-).
