Lowrance orange sonar screen

Has anyone had issues with the lowrance triple shot showing a solid orange screen on the sonar readout? I fear the transducer is no good but this is a fairly new unit , not even two years old with very little hours on it. The transducer does have something that looks a little odd under the surface on the top side of the transducer as you can see in the picture.

Has it worked fine up till now?

Did you try turning the gain down ?
