2023 255xd Maptuner X tunes

The RIVA kits are such a rip off for sure. I have modded 26 SVHO waverunners in total since 2015. 8 of which were mine and the rest friends. I’ve never spent an anything near $3,000, and all of them have done 82-86mph on GPS.

I buy the parts through GreenHulk or Dean’s Team as package deals without paying the markup of the riva “stage” kits. All of them are a little more involved than a stage 1+, but less than a stage 2, all for less $ than a stage 1.
The last one I did was a 2022 FX back in 2023. It cost $2100 in parts including the $500 license. That was after the fizzle intercooler was bumped up to $1000.

We are looking to spend about $4,100 in total on this boat.
$1000 each for the intercoolers.
$500 each license.
$250 each Impellers.
$200 each air intakes.
$100 each in cooling parts

Going to set limiter to 8800 RPM. Dean’s team 93 octane tunes.

I’ll try to remember to update here with top speed improvements. Hoping to see some acceleration gains too!
How did this work out?

If it was amazing results i am sure we would have heard

Right now we are starting a program to develop specific packages , same way we do for PWCs.

For now, we do have the tunes and the upgrade for the filter, replace the OEM screen for a bigger one to get more air flow.

I would do that, then depending on the results (RPM wise) and your target, send the impeller to IMPROS to be modified…

And
There
It
Is.

Ok, So I did it. but the heat and humidity robbed it all back.
As I stated before my boat has always been on the slow side. 54mph best stock.
But while running the twin stacked impellers 51mph was best
On July 12th started testing tune
stage 1 8300rpm. 12/20 twins 54mph @ 7600. stock cones (no L13)
on July 13th
stage 1 8300rpm 12/18 twins stock cones (no L13). 56mph @ 8000 port / 7700 starboard..
that is with full fuel, 4 people, 4 200ah 6v batteries, 4 12" subs and other gear.
The last two weekends 7/19 & 7/26 has been with the 12/18 twins but with heat 95+. humidity 80% and 88-90 water temp. I was only seeing 52mph 7500-7700rpm. it felt like i was hitting a wall at the top end.
But with the early July12/13 testing I picked up 4-5 mph while using the twin stacked impellers.
This weekend I will put the stock impellers back on and test. But we are set to have lower temps so that does not help testing.

editing: I only run 91 octane . 93 is a pain to find

This subject has been brought up time an again. So far the results from any mods and tunes have been minimal. The 255 boats with the svhos might get more out of tunes and mods but from what i have seen it wont be worth the money spent

If you are worried about money and into this style of jetboat you're in the wrong hobby. A 255xd drinks gas like no other at full throttle. But if you shop smart and find deals it helps I bought the MapX tunner last year new for half price from a former member.
I got 10% or so off the tunning from PWC Performance Parts.
The Twin stack impellers I bought off the the shelf and have the same results as others have seen with the ones that were tuned at almost 2 times the price.
I like the chase I wish it was a bit easer but....

This is an option but I have no first had knowledge with them Jetboat ECU Tuning (Number of Engines: Dual)

Money is not the problem, i will spend money on just about anything that gives me clear results that warrant the cost.
I have plenty of toys that are far from stock and i spent plenty on them to make them great machines.
Tunes and mods on these boats dont translate to big improvements like a 700lb ski does.

I’m with @jacoviii on this I think. I enjoy making improvements even though I know they’ll be small. I’d like to get my big ass, heavy 255XD over 60mph. I don’t mind spending the money if I’m having fun.

Why not leave the same impellers in and test in cool conditions?

Also I’d suggest figuring out the density and recording that with your test results.

How was the hole shot and was there any cavitation?

Your twin screws are off the shelf correct? You could probably have those feathered in for the best compromise as well.

FSH thank you I have been going about this with a few assumptions. Like I know that I boat between 600' and 800' mostly. So not a huge of a difference from "sea level". But now looking at he numbers I'm in the mountains. LOL. After this coming weekends findings I will get ahold of Riva for a custom tune for this Zone.

hole shot was good but "water temp" does loosen it up a bit.
Yes they are straight as solas makes them. I will work on custom pitches as time comes.
with the large swing in temp and humidity. I fore see a spring / fall impeller set and a peak summer set. but only testing will tell.
I can change them out in about 35 min now but would rather not have too.
