2025 Yamaha 195s RGB lighting and Connext

Hey everyone. First time posting and new owner of a 2025 195s.

Ungraded my stock speakers last week to Hertz HBX's, added a Kicker TB10 and Rockville Amp and added the HBX RGB controller as well. Will be adding some shadow caster courtesy lights as well but then got to thinking and was wondering in the 7" Connext has the ability to control RGB lighting vs using the Hertz controller. Can anyone offer any insight? TYIA!

Unsure of the Connext, but on my 2020 I use the WetSounds controller for my JL lighted speakers. Separate remote for the lights, but works great.

So I’m currently using the Hertz HBX RGB controller (sold separately by Hertz to control speaker lighting) however, the shadow-caster wet lighting won’t work with that controller (the manufacturer said you need there controller for in water lights). I’m simply looking to avoid adding a new controller set up for controlling in board and water lights together. I know the bigger Yamahas have the ability to control lighting via the Connect, and wasn’t sure if the upgraded screen in the 195s had the capability.

There is a way to change what model boat the Connext screen thinks you have, but not sure if that would work with a 195. I think the Hertz audio controllers are all setup on the twin engine boats.

I’ll have to look into that and see if I can find a way to make it think it’s in the other model and if the 195s uses the same Connext
