252s and 252se tower question

Can anyone with a 252s or 252se tell me how the tower folds with this side plate I circled? Is the plate mounted only to the bottom of the hinge bracket so it can still fold? Any pictures of one folded? I have an AR 250 and I want to fab up a similar plate

I believe it just kind of folds down with it if that makes any sense.
 
Thanks everyone. so it looks like it’s only mounted to the bottom of the tower. Not the hinge at all. Does anyone know what material is that panel made out of ? Is it metal or somerthing else? It looks like it can be fastened through the inside of the tower opening if I make a panel.
