AMP wont turn on

I have a 2017 212 Limited and I'm trying to add an amp to improve the sound. I have attached the speaker wires, power and ground....the last thing I did was to use the blue wire coming out of the "stereo" since its not a head unit and attach it to the amps remote but the amp will not turn on??? Is the blue wire the correct remote wire? I have looked at the power and everything looks ok.

Use a jumper wire from a positive source like the positive line for the amp to the remote signal input. If the amp powers on and works, then the blue wire is not the correct "remote" wire. Look up the specs for the stereo in your model and you might be able to find a proper remote wire.

Thanks that is also the issue I bought the boat used and there is no manual and I have not found one online yet.

What's the model name and number of the unit? Yamaha changes suppliers and they vary from year to year. Someone will likely have it here...or find it online...
