I have a 2025 AR190. Love the boat, but I find it very annoying that the radio and Connext screen turn off every time I shut off the engine. If you very quickly turn the key back to the run position they will usually come back quickly, otherwise you have to wait for them to boot up again. Really annoying when picking up riders.

Has any one moved the accessories to a standalone switch instead of the key? I spend a lot of time on a friend's toon and that his how his works (really it is how my Wave Runner works too, except it kills the radio when it starts back up).

You could shut the engine off with the lanyard kill switch, but that would still leave you with the electronics turning off when you start the engine.

There is a reason for this, most electronics are sensitive to voltage spikes, such as when you start the engine. I'm sure you car radio does the same thing. I think you could do this if you use separate batteries for electronics and starting. I thought Yamaha had switched dual batteries on the newer boats. You may have to look into doing this on yours.

Yeah, I get why it dies on the Waverunner when you start the engine. But it is annoying it dies when you turn off the engine. I'll have to pay attention next time I'm out, but I don't believe the radio or connext turn off when starting the AR190.

Are you still running a single battery?

Yes I am. I keep a jump starter on the boat and just have the stock stereo system so haven't seen a need to go to a dual battery.
Well, if you put in a house battery with the BEP battery switch and dvsr you can transfer your “house” loads off of the start battery and those loads will stay on when you turn off the engine.
