Are the clean out ports standard on all Yamahas (all years) or was there a specific year they started making them standard on their boats. I definitely see the advantage of them, but realistically how often is everyone utilizing them to clear debris?

Dont how long they’ve had the clean out ports but it’s been a longtime.

How often they are used is highly situational, clean clear water never, weed, grass and stick infested waters a lot…I’ve only needed them a few times and it was my fault, I let my fishing line get sucked up into the pumps, twice. The last time I had something in one of the pumps I did the reverse trick and that cleared it.

If these boats didn’t have clean out ports no way would I have bought a jet boat.

I’d say I probably get in the clean out ports at least once a season minimum. Two years ago there was one day I had to clean wood chips out 3 times within an hour and then nothing the next few days.

I’d rather have them and not need them, than need them and not have them!

I boat on the Mississippi River and we use them about every third time we go out; they are a life saver.
