Does anyone have a picture of hang tag (emissions tag) for 242x? I'm trying to register a 2019 242x in California that was purchased out of state and I need hang tag I believe with a 4 star rating. There is no tag current on my boat that I can find, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look in the engine bay. The emissions tag should be visible on the engines.

@zipper, thank you and I have looked. From what Yamaha has told me, it's a green paper tag that has most like weathered off and or removed from the previous owner.

This was mine on our 2007. It was on the bulkhead facing the cockpit below the seat cushions mounted on the engine hatch. You can see the upholstery at the top of the picture.

@zipper, thank you! I have a similar sticker in my engine bay and was told by DMV this isn't the hang tag. The hang tag should have a star rating (1-4) which started in 2008 and newer boats. I'm not sure how accurate this is information is, wondering if any other Yamaha jet boat owners have similar sticker and hang tags?

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I was sure the 1.8ltr supercharged engine was not 4 star rated thus the reason the 255 and 195 were not sold in California. Did they change the emissions?

I do know they offered california models with a catch can. Maybe it's different if purchased out of state, but you may have to register it out of state as well.

Nevada's nice

@biffdotorg, I believe your are correct. My 242x has the non supercharged 1.8s which should be California emissions compliant.
