Hi

Thinking of using a jump starter and not mounting an extra battery in my 2020 Yamaha Ar195.

Is this an okay plan? And what size (amps) would be recommended for my cruise ship?

Your battery is rated for x amount of cycles.you'll be buying more boat batteries if you kill then jump constantly. First Buy the biggest battery that fits. Make sure its a marine start/deep cycle. Try to figure out the amp hours of the devices running to size the battery.
Having a jump starter is good for emergency. I have one in my car , and always forget to take on the boat. You have to match the starter to battery size , but bigger is OK.

I have one of these and kept it on the boat and in the Yukon. I never drained the battery in the boat, I was always paranoid and would fire the engine up about every hour to charge the battery with the alternator, yet it never really dropped down much. Jumped many other cars and trucks with this. Holds a charge for what seems to be forever and has some additional plug in for USB and whatnot. A little pricy for what it is, but good piece of mind.
