Ran MR&1s for 2 minutes without water and without overheating.
 
I usually test this only when I’m winterizing.. I don’t change the oil until spring. I start the engines one at a time and fog the intake for probably a minute to 2 minutes tops. Haven’t had an overheat yet but I definitely don’t try to push it haha. I always start them up before heading to the ramp as well.

when we were lake gypsies, I would always dry-fire my engines in the landing parking lot, or in line waiting for our turn. I never wanted to be "that guy" that sits at the ramp blocking folks only to figure out a key was missing, or power was not turned on, or some other stupid thing.
