New to the forum. Just bought an LS2000. There is a thru-hull hole on the port side near the fuel cap to the right. Looks like it’s factory but there is no fitting in it. Anyone know what this is for and what fitting should be there?
Pretty sure by it's placement in relation to the fuel cap that it is the vent for the fuel tank. There should be a screen covered hole facing aft or similar.
Gotta love this forum. My 2018 212X has a similar chrome through hull fitting on the port side just forward of (like right next to) the fuel filler cap. I just spent an hour going through every page of the owners manual trying to figure out what the hell it was--figured it had something to do with fuel, but not sure because when you pull it off, it just looks like a plug with a screen and vent holes in it above the threads but below the through hull. Wondered if the intention was to loosen it when in high altitude.
Should have come here first. I now see that the cap doesn't seat in the through hull all the way so it's always vented. Nicely implemented, Yamaha, poorly documented. Thanks Zipper and jetboaters.net for filling in the gap.
