I had both engines overhauled by Yamaha a few years ago. Ran great until my stbd engine wouldn’t start. Found out the bendrix and starter were not replaced (original). After the work was completed, the port engine cooling overflow was clogged. Cleaned both for maintenance and now the stbd engine runs smoothly until put into the water and no cooling water flow in either engine. Changed spark plugs and carburetor cleaner for the carb.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Typically if it will run out of the water but not in the water it is a carburetor problem. The carburetors may need to be disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt. Use only mikuni brand carburetor kits. If the boat has sat unused for a long time fresh fuel may help also.

It is likely your cooling water indicator (pee holes) are plugged again bugs love to make nests in them. Use some weed Wacker string to clean them out. Also it is normal for no water to come out of them when running out of the water on the hose.

Thanks for the advice. Time to take apart!
