My 255xd build, upgrades & audio.

Revo I think.

I'm also planning to install the Zipwake 300S interceptors on my 2024 255XD. I'm glad to see they fit on yours. Have you done any testing to see if they can improve the wake? Do they interfere at all with the Yamaha Surf Point tabs? Can they both be used together to improve the wake?

I, too, will replace the amplifiers with 2 Wake Sounds SYN-DXG and add a second subwoofer.

Thank you for taking the time to share your mods. They all look great.

Ok so it has been a while since I posted in this thread but I have a few post around the forum about twin/ stacked impellers and MapX tunner.

Twin impeller info

2023 255xd Maptuner X tunes

This is a condensed list of some of my findings on the impellers at the end of 2024. I did more testing this year 2025 but it fell into the MapX thread

1. I was going to start a new thread but... Ok so we ran the 12/20s today L13 no shims port 5mm & no shims starboard water temp 85* and lake 800' elevation. The low end hook was good. I didn't feel/ see any cavitation. Port was 7500 and Starboard was 7300 top speed was 51mph. The boat had better...

2. Well I just pulled the L13 cones off and went to stock cones still 12/20s. It revs much quicker. Now port is 7600 and Starboard is 7500 much better acceleration (punchy). Top speed 52-53mph. Before with the L13 I felt like the power and take off was very linear... I will still try the 12/18. With each cone. But...

3. Ok well it was 15-20mph cross winds at the lake and the water was busy. But what I was able to tell with the 12/18 was port is 7700 and Starboard is 7600 a little bit better acceleration ( still punchy). Top speed 51 but the gain in speed from 47 to 51mph is a bit slow. I'm still running stock...

4. Ok yesterday was still a bit windy but port was 7800 and Starboard 7700 with a top speed of 53mph. I felt a bit of cavitation. So I will do L13 cones this weekend.

5. Yes I did a bit more testing. The L13 no shims helped a bit but nothing drastic. I'm out of season now and will be waiting till next season for the tunes. The 12/20s with no L13 cone was all around good. I'm going to start next season with the 12/18s & L13 but also try the 12/20s again. I'm...

6. Yes i bought mine off the shelve. I have had good success with out of the box performance. My RPM and top speed has been on par with the "tuned" ones you listed. I will PM you the info on the ones I bought if wanted.

From the MapX thread.

Ok, So I did it. but the heat and humidity robbed it all back.
As I stated before my boat has always been on the slow side. 54mph best stock.
But while running the twin stacked impellers 51mph was best
On July 12th started testing tune
stage 1 8300rpm. 12/20 twins 54mph @ 7600. stock cones (no L13)
on July 13th
stage 1 8300rpm 12/18 twins stock cones (no L13). 56mph @ 8000 port / 7700 starboard..
that is with full fuel, 4 people, 4 200ah 6v batteries, 4 12" subs and other gear.
The last two weekends 7/19 & 7/26 has been with the 12/18 twins but with heat 95+. humidity 80% and 88-90 water temp. I was only seeing 52mph 7500-7700rpm. it felt like i was hitting a wall at the top end.
But with the early July12/13 testing I picked up 4-5 mph while using the twin stacked impellers.
This weekend I will put the stock impellers back on and test. But we are set to have lower temps so that does not help testing.
