Picked up my new 252se today. Got a hell of a deal. Now got to rig a fuse panel under the helm and install my Simrad GO9.
Trailer is way too tongue heavy and the bunks are hanging way beyond the transom. Will set that better after i take it out. I will take my tools to set is back some. The 1 hour drive home you could feel how heavy the tongue was. 20260625_180458.jpg20260625_180513.jpg20260625_180523.jpg20260625_181638.jpg20260625_183222.jpg20260625_190916.jpg

Congrats! Great color combo!

If you’re in a hurry to mount the Simrad, the Phone Charger disconnects from a Deutsch connector under the helm and if memory serves me correctly, is on its own 10 amp circuit.

You also should have two 10A accessory switches at the helm.

I saw the extra switches but hadn't looked at how it comes apart or how to access the backside of it

The only way I was able to figure it out was to climb under the helm. This is the view into the gunnel area

You can see the back of the switches here, Lower left of the photo, there is a black fuse holder. There are two pig tails here, one for each accessory.

I didn’t look too hard for a ground, as I already ran 1/0 to the helm for the amps.

It's a beaut Clark....it's a beaut!!!! :-)

Love the interior.

Looks like the wife is pointing out a spot that you missed........... :D
She was pointing out how dirty it was. They didn't clean it very well

Got my Simrad mounted, and my fuse box ran to under the helm. Its now ready for when i install the trim tabs and anything else.
Did the mod to the dvsr so i can charge the batteries independently 20260626_150621.jpg20260626_141035.jpg20260626_132430.jpg

First impressions without taking it on the water yet:

Storage sucks compared to my ar240, Probably lost 30%

Anchor locker sucks too, the ar240 had a divider to keep the line and chain away from the Anchor. And the 13lb anchor package from west marine doesn't fit like the ar240. Curious to what Anchor actually fits. I had an old Anchor that is in there temporary but want a better option

Cleat placement sucks there is only one below the tower, one at the stern and one at the bow. None at the widest part of the beam. Absolutely dumb no place to put a fender at the spot most likely to get damaged
The ar240 had one at the bow, side of the windshield and one at the stern so you could place a fender at the side of the windshield (the widest part of the beam) and you could hang one off the tower making sure the hull was covered

Rigging and wiring the boat is way easier than the ar240

I don’t like the middle cleat placement either. I don’t use any of the cleats for fenders though. I hang a fender off the tower and then off the grab rails, whichever side we dock against. I have adjustable steel clips for the fenders. I haven’t had any issues with the 8in fenders not protecting the boat this way, so far!

Below are the clips I bought, pretty heavy duty as we deal with some rough wakes if we are staying at LOTO and not in a protected cove. If you or anyone uses the clips you have to be careful because they could do some serious damage to someone or the boat if you just fling them around!

Took it out this morning before the storms rolled in.
Like the e throttles.
Have a vibration from the port motor that resonates on the port side. At further inspection that reverse door is very low compared to the starboard which is clear when in forward. Going to adjust it today and see if it gets rid of it.

The engines at cruise are slightly quieter but when moving at just above no wake speed its much louder, this could be because of the missadjusted reverse door but i doubt it.

Overall i am pleased but for a 6 figure boat i better be

The new design clean out plugs seal well, cruised at 30ish mph for a few hours and did a few quick launches. Not a drop of water above the plugs. Bilge was completely dry as well

Beautiful boat. Same colors I had and loved them. I am sure you will really enjoy it.

I agree with cleat location, I just assumed Yamaha knows better.
On Anchor I got Mantus M1 and absolutely love that thing vs box and fx-7 type I tried on bay and lakes. Initially wanted to store it below one of front seats, but ended up fitting it into designated locker. Padded it with some from Amazon and it does not rattle around.
M1 holds the boat in one spot even and strong winds while neighboring boats need constantly readjust.

I have a fortress and have never had good luck with it. I want a standard galvanized danforth. I do not want to move the ladder every time i take out or put away the anchor

Good point on ladder, do not clip it anymore. Feel like it is minor inconvenience for better anchor. It is more hassle to reset the anchor for me when it does not hold the boat.

Congrats on the new boat! It looks great!
