Operating with flush hose

Can I run the motor (90 HP) on my Mirage out of the water ( in driveway) with the flushing hose? My manual states " Do not run engine on flushing kit. Lack of sufficient water intake could cause overheating and damage to the engine." But what about for a short time? just to make certain that the engine will run before taking it to the water. Does the impeller turn if the "throttle only button is puled out?
I am new to Jet Boating this is my first Jet even so it is a good fit for the river I live near. (50 feet). North central Illinois on the Rock River.
I am also looking for the location that I could find parts and accessory's for my boat.

I got no replies to my first post also.
I would say yes, you can run the engine as I have on my Sea Rayder back when it used to run.
In fact, if you don’t run a little water before starting, you could ignite fuel vapor in the intake manifold(I believe) and blow off your ride plate or perhaps just severely deform it.
Assuming your Mirage also has a Force outboard/Jet drive Frankenstein adopted by Mercury.
Just keep run time to an absolute minimum. If you need more time to mess with things like timing or whatever, take it to the river.
