I exchanged some emails with Jody about the price.

He said that PP will not allow him to sell for less this year.

I am hoping to hear back from him confirming the price for Yamahas. In the email he said that price was for most twin engined boats.

Would you guys like to email him and remind him there was a deal for $50 less last month? Maybe it will help. I tried pointing that out today.

PP has tight control on pricing. I had hoped that Jody would have a better deal as he did last year but PP does not want him to have a group buy. I was several emails and some calls into the discussion before I was able to get PP to discount pricing to Brian.

I made the decision that I would rather buy direct for $150 more than have Brian profit from my order. With Jody I will be paying $50 more.

In our boats, it may not monitor rpm at all. When I looked at the install manual, I didn't see anything describing wiring the unit to get a feed for rpm. Maybe I missed it? Perhaps a call to PP? Or a jet boater with one installed can chime in?

It does monitor RPM and you tap an tach guage wire under helm. As someone mentioned it only monitors one, but if you throttle up equally before PP takes over, and you have your cables adjusted to sync, then they both should theoretically remain and controlled in sync.

@Suchawittygal If you can change oil, sparkplugs, etc. and a little handy it is fairly easy to install and once you understand what it does and how it does it, it's really easy in hindsight.

@upperdeck It is the best investment I've made in our boat hands down. If you ski, wakeboard, or surf it's a must.

I had to replace a servo motor last year and it was relatively cheap, and if anything does go out, it's modular and easy to replace. I have to adjust the cables every so often and make sure the cable routing hasn't moved, but it takes about 2 min on the water a couple of times/year.

I'll second that one. I've said it many times that my only regret with my Perfect Pass is that I didn't do it sooner.

Bruce I was thinking we might get the price down with a higher number of orders. I think I inadvertently missed the deadline waiting for more to hop on board. Bummer. I guess I will wait for the next one. I think I will send Jody an email and ask about the next one.
