Please help to diagnose the engine problems with LS2000

@Rudylgarcia, have you compression tested the engines? Those two strokes need rebuilding every 400 hours or so. That rebuild likely is less expensive if you catch it early.
I have not done a compression test nor rebuild anything just got boat a year ago and didnt get to use it mch.

Go to an auto perts store. They likely will loan you a compression tester. Typically they want a card to hold for it.

Hi, so so sorry for hik jack this post, but I'm new to the yamaha ls2000, and having an issue with it, almost the same the tachs would show 3k, but gps is 50mph, also after running at that speed for 2 minutes or so if you bring it down to idle , it looks like wants to shutdown, also the throttle levers won't remain on position is like they are missing at part or something...any help would be really appreciated....again sorry for hik jack.

To add....is a bit hard to start.

1. Tachs may be broken or may lack signal. Those tachs were known for cracked housings.

2. The carbs are likely to be dirty. Try adding a can of Seafoam to every tank.

3. Your throttles are different but have a look athttps://jetboaters.net/threads/throttle-slip.31905/

Hi Bruce, and thank you for the quick response, really appreciated, is pre mix, would sea foam hurt anything?...and thank you for the post on the throttles.
