Trying to keep this short...
Ran over a bunch of seaweed which got all sucked in and blocked the grate and propeller. Had to idle back to the ramp for about 3 miles. Half way, the check engine light turned on, now display shows Fault Code P1136. Tried disconnecting the battery but it comes back up.
Reading about this on other posts (i.e. scarab 165 fault code) seems it's the O2 sensor. Dealer wants over $380 to look at it. Boat is still under warranty. Any advise?

All of those will work. The Bosch ones seem popular.

It's a pretty easy part to change. YouTube it on a SeaDoo PWC. Same process.

That code is specifically the downstream one of the catalytic converter. It has no impact on engine performance at all. So you can safely boat without it.

It's located just after the cat converter. Pretty easy to find.
 
Thanks! Any ideas of what triggered the fault code, it given the conditions I explained above?

My guess: unrelated to the seaweed. Seaweed may cause cooling issues, (obviously) thrust issues, etc. But I don't see any of that affecting either O2 levels out the back or damage to the O2 sensor.

$380 to look at a warranty issue? Geez. I would think that would be covered. At any rate, I ran my boat back 1x for warranty issues, then figured out that it is more of a pain to get it to the dealer and back and all than to just get the part from him and put it in myself. Did that for all of the rest of the things (minor) during the warranty period. Continued it after the warranty period and have not regretted it. Nor has my pocketbook.

Would the engine light & code clear by itself? Wondering if that's something only the dealer can do

Code will clear its self with no active faults over a few drive cycles. I'd take it out and make sure its not damaged and clean it off and see if that fixes it, if not, replace it - either way it doesn't require a dealer visit.
