I need to register my Yamaha 2012 242S in TX. Paperwork asks for Serial and Sterndrive #'s. Can someone please tell me where to find the sterndrive number on this boat? I've contorted my body every which way but can't find one. Thanks!!

You will not find sterndrive [HASH=93]#s[/HASH] since it is a jet drive boat.. the jets do not have serial numbers just the engines...

On the mr1 on top of the oil cooler there is a sticker that gives a number for each motor. See if you have that or something similar on your boat. They should accept that. Same deal in Ohio, they need a number on the motor for title.

Thanks Mark & thanks Bryan. I appreciate your help!!

Every boat will have VIN or HIN (Hull Identification Number for boats). This is the identification number you would use to register a boat. The serial / HIN / VIN should be located on the transom in this location unless someone has broken or destroyed the rivets holding the placard on....

In MN, they asked me for the SN off the Engines as well. They are not hard to find on the 1.8's. Just open your engine bay, and they are clear to see.

Good luck,
