Soooo.....what originally happened on the "other" site

Do you think the older the content gets it will be MORE or LESS valuable?

I agree. But the cost to host it is minimal and I could likely transfer it into modern forum software in a day or two.

Lots of people contributed to building the library over there. Brian invested large amounts of his time into running the site just as the previous operator did.

How can you agree? I posed a question. . . . = )

@jameskeller76 ... we aren't encouraging you to poke the bear....especially as we know the bear reads our forum, and there is so little activity over there....it doesn't take much to see when someone posts a link. A shame that he's threatened by links to other sites.....
Roger that, but at the same time I'd like to point new jet boat owners here. But I definitely get your point!

I have always wished some next gen forum software would be able to separate informative posts away from the bulk...

In that case, I do believe the old posts become less valuable over time. But we still have people showing up with new to them two strokes that could use that info.

Perhaps we even need someone to warn all the two strokers about oil lines in every post!

I was originally on the other place, but way too many guys flaming on each other. You won't see that here. The other thing I didn't like on the other place was when I asked a question about what mods to get for my boat. A guy told me to buy a certain mod without disclosing that he was the seller. I thought that was in poor taste but maybe that was just me. I was brand new to the boat and I felt that I was being taken advantage of. I think its great guys sell their own products but I feel that they should be up front that they are the seller and/or manufacturer.
There is actually a reason for that, site owner didn't want any commercial entities posting there, so if that person said that he/she was the owner of said product then erased. That is why I just hint at the Wake wedge over there and tread carefully.

Wow so I never really knew the story behind the two sites but man I'm so glad I read those threads. That guy is crazy and I will never post anything there again or be associated with such an asshole. Not that I really posted there since it doesn't appear to stay updated since you guys all left lol. Screw that guy and his site. This place is amazing and I was so glad I found it back before I had a boat. Learned a lot and always happy to contribute how to's or whatever I make along my boat journey. Love the fact this place has a comfortable family chill vibe and everyone is always willing to help and nobody goes crazy.

Bottom line is from the ashes rose a great site. Had it not been for the blood spilled over there we'd still be in the dark ages of forums run by a cranky king.

I still give yamahajetboaters.com the credit I think it deserves. Without it I would likely not have discovered cobra jet fins and may have sold my first Yamaha after just two outings. In my opinion that site or more the resistance to improve it is what brought about the creation of this site. Last but not least many of us would not have been exposed to each other at all or not until many years later without YJB.com .

Yup.....which is why many of us were members for such a long time. I was sad to leave, but couldn't continue to contribute to the site with the behavior going on behind the scenes.

And @Bruce has this place humming along!!!! We have awesome features and add more as people request them!

How about them 21 footers...and dem Bears!

Good points.
How ironic Cobras' Jeff @Cobra Jet Steering LLC was banned. LOL.

I'm originally from Illinois and lived in Chicago for 10 years. We're always shooting for a wildcard spot because the division is out of the question, especially with 2 assured losses to the Pack :(

I think I would win that contest I was banned with out ever even posting anything over there lol. Less then an hour of signing up and banned.
Ding, ding, ding!! I think we have a winner!

As Johnny Carson used to say, " I did not know that"! Thanks for the info. Now I can release my pent up anger after from 4 yrs ago.:)

I think we should all hold hands and sing cumbiya!! We need a official READER OF THE PAST... every jetboaters.net birthday we can all come together as @Bruce or @Julian read from the great book... they can tell us the story of oppression and bond age and from that hell grew a great new and strong JET BOATERS COMMUNITY! A COMMUNITY WE CAN BE PROUD OF![flag]S pCOMMUNITY THAT NONE... SHALL..... BREAK! (Someone start humming the national amthem).. A COMMUNITY OF BROTHERS........ AND. ... OF.... SISTERS........ ONE THAT WILL NOT FAIL.... THAT WILL NOT FAULTER! ONE THAT WILL LAST........ FOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#####

As mentioned by jcyamaharider we were told he did not want us to talk about our products because he felt people would prefer to buy from the manufacturer rather than the vendor " HIM", even though I always posted that the parts were available in the web site store and to support the site buy purchasing from them.
I felt that we were better qualified to answer a question than he was if it pertained to our products. In any event Things became pretty difficult I simply said if I leave I take my products with me since I never do dealer agreements I knew I could leave at any time with no restrictions and eventually I did as soon as I learned that he had blocked me from posting People really had no idea the politicks that went on behind the scenes there hopefully that has ended.

Well that and Bruce kept calling me at home asking me to join this site so it's really his fault.

everyone that can still post over there should go from x:00 to x:00 (1 hour) and answer every jetboaters question just for the shit of it. Maybe we can help someone that has a common interest and then just leave. Kinda in good faith kinda thing. People would be like... What just happened? And it would be kinda fun to see the post count for a one hour time. New 3 year record probably!

Oh... Thanks @0627Devildog i completely forgot about Steves wonderful posts!

Here for all you 2 stroke owners read this ,,,,,, " no offense Steve we miss your advice here"
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
As a new owner, read this: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3744

Things you should know:

Oil Lines
One thing you MUST do is upgrade the oil lines or convert to pre-mixed fuel!!! The original oil lines WILL fall off, resulting in engine failure!!!

Flush Hose
Remember, when flushing the cooling system, NEVER run the water unless the engine is running!!! Start the engine, THEN turn on the water. Shut off the water, THEN turn off the engine. Running the water without having the engine running can allow water to flow backward through the exhaust into the engine cylinders and cause major damage!!!

Lanyard
Whenever you crank the engines with the spark plugs removed, remove the wrist lanyard to disable the ignition system. Failure to do this can result in damage to the ignition box.

Storage
It is not recommended that you store your boat in the water for long periods. Debris can collect in the jet pumps and prevent starting; salt water will cause severe corrosion. Leaks are not uncommon, either. If you must store your boat in the water, it is highly recommended that you install a backup bilge pump with float switch, and a backup power source.

Drain Plug
Do not store the boat with the drain plug inserted (obviously not applicable if you leave the boat in the water). Rain water can collect inside the hull and flood the engine compartment.

Cleanout Plugs
Make sure the plugs are in snugly and tie them together with a rope so you don’t lose one!
