Was comparing surfing gas mileage with the owner of a nice Axis wake boat yesterday. He had the 6.0l 400hp engine and 4000lb ballast. I have 320hp and 2600lbs ballast. As far as we could tell the yamaha gets about 3x better mileage. A full day for him was $400 whereas a full day for us is $75 - $100. I am sure his wake is bigger. Cam.

$400 in fuel for the day!?!?

Yikes!! Can that really be true?? We surf all the time with very little break for lunch and usually don't go below 1/3 tank. It usually takes me no more than $60 to top off the tank.

I was surprised too. Usually a boat owner exagerates to the lesser side of gas mileage. Cam
