I pulled my SX195 with a Kia Sedona V6. Wasn’t bad on local roads as I wasn’t going fast, but didn’t have the power needed for the freeway. That’s why we upgraded to the Yukon XL to expand our ramp access around Tampa Bay.

You're right at the limit with that SUV and you current boat. Sorento is rated at 3,500lbs. My AR190 scaled at 3,200lbs. Your 195s is likely to be closer to 3,500-3,600lbs or so (Newer/heavier hull, slightly heavier engine, larger fuel tank).

I towed my 190 with a Chevy Traverse. Similar size/shape/power. It was OK, but not great. Had enough chassis, but the engine was "peaky" at best, and it struggled to stay cool with a full complement of people, gear, and the boat in tow. Keep in mind your combined gross vehicle weight rating is the sum of trailer, tow vehicle and all gear/cargo. So once you add 3 more people, luggage, toys, etc for a weekend away, you're going to be over that particular limit.

SO, it'll really depends on where and how you plan to tow. Are you talking about driving it down the street, or just a few miles to the ramp? If so, you're likely OK. If you're talking about taking road trips with it, then you're going to want some more safety factor on that rating.

Personally, I prefer closer to a 5k rating for these. I also like ~300hp or so, with a nice wide power band (turbo V6, small V8). You don't need that kind of power, but it sure makes life more comfortable; and that's kind of why we do this right?!?
