Trailer / Trailering Upgrades

I used the system to watch riders on tubes I was pulling last weekend. The video was clear and can easily transmit over 100’ but I plan to limit use of the system to road towing going forward because there is a slight lag between what the camera captures and it being displayed on the monitor. It’s not much, and nothing to o be concerned about on the road, but it is enough to keep me from throttling down in time to keep the tube from flipping over/tossing my riders into the water.

Overall this is the best on road towing system I’ve ever had and I’ve had close to 10 over the past 20+ years.

@Ronnie is there enough wire to run the power cord along the tower so it's somewhat protected? I know they make velcro wraps that could keep it in place, might be worth looking into if you have enough to reach

My wireless camera works great, but I have to work on figuring out a tower mount when I get a chance

@Ronnie @drewkaree and others…..

What Wireless Camera are you using?

Start at that post.

Supposedly a lightning deal on Amazon for the next 3 hours for $75

Pics of it in use follow that post.

While it DID survive the water, it lost signal while underwater, but it's still working and operational.

The magnets are crazy strong, but there's nothing on the boat that I can put it on, that still gives me a convenient view.

The mount that Ronnie used may be my solution, but for now, I set it on the port side and hope it doesn't tip over.

I'd buy it again, definitely recommend

Today I upgraded my trailer jack. It wasn’t planned, but we all know the original jacks were sketchy anyway, so I’m not too upset! I had researched and settled on the Ark XO750 several years ago, and I see many here have gone that way as well.

So I was all set to follow @Scoop lead, including reusing the jack’s original jack’s original mounting location, but realized the 2026 Shoreland’r trailers are different and make replacing the jack a bit easier. Removing the original jack is a simple process that only requires removing 4 bolts.

Like @Scoop , rather than using the Ark mounting plate and brackets, I decided to reuse the original mounting plate and hardware. The only modification required was re-drilling 4 - 25/64” holes on the mounting plate. To make it easier, I used the pivot insert from the Ark as a drilling guide and bolted it to the Shoreland’r mounting, shown below.

I re-used the bolts from the Ark jack to reassemble the jack and reused the original bolts and holes to reattached the jack to the trailer. The parts below are what’s left over. The black parts are from the Ark jack.

One thing that many have commented on is the magnetic winding handle. I was planning to drill a hole, tap treads and add a set screw to secure it place. When I opened the box, I found a small plastic bag that contained a 5M bolt and washer. The instructions didn’t mention anything about it, but I found out that I could just push the magnet out from the back side of the handle and use the bolt and washer to attach it to the jack. I’m not sure if it’s a new feature because I haven’t seen anyone comment on it.

As many have said, this jack is heavy and a massive improvement over the original!
