West End vs Bimini

I've been to Bimini and loved it, just wondering why the West end isn't as popular or maybe Im missing the treads about it.
From what I see its about same distance leaving from west palm springs to West end vs Fort Lauderdale to bimini. Any thoughts on it from someone that has done it.
 
Not as much to do unless your fishing. I stayed there last year the resort is nice enough but not a lot to do on the water near by.

That explains it, I like fishing but really liked the sapona ,and honeymoon harbor.. Thanks
