How hard is it to put timing marks on the crank? You better have $$ if you own. Yamaha

Why do you say that? These engines are very reliable, failures are not common. As far as timing marks, the correct procedure is in the service manual. I make my own marks prior to disassembly or before assembly

To anyone who’s actually had to work on a 1.1 before. I had a stuck valve on both engines causing both not to start.
After a wild goose chase on stbd engine, I ended up pulling the head. Finding stuck valve. Actually replaced it because I assumed it was bent.
Timing marks on the cams are great. There is nothing to indicate TDC on the crank. I did it old school and found highest point of travel for cylinder 1.
Port engine, I was able to pull cams and free up 1 stuck exhaust valve.
Learning a lot the hard way sucks sometimes. It’s better to pay some other poor bastard to do it
