I spoke to the service manager this morning. The Yamaha rep and his counter parts came to the conclusion that the tower's mounting holes are mis-aligned. The plan is to do a modification and some fiberglass work for proper positioning.
We didn't know and maybe they didn't either that they would take the tower off the boat last Wednesday. Had we been advised we probably would have held off, as we have friends flying in for the Memorial Day weekend and to celebrate our 40th anniversary.
The dealer is really going to have to scramble to have the boat ready by Friday.

Fucking hate creepy crawlies.
He was going for an early morning dip. Pretty common, usually find them in the pump strainer. The coral snakes are around but not all that common and we get some 4’+ rat snakes that come out of the woods.

Finally tuned up the banana trees and pulled the weeds. It’s coming along. The grasshoppers were atrocious this spring, they destroyed the Avocado tree.

Here's the latest update on our tower work as of this morning
From the service manager:
I put the boat back in your bay this morning. I am not satisfied with the repair being completed. Tower is better according to my tech after relocating. I am not sure on this. I sent an email to the Yamaha rep involved in this about my thoughts. He is going to discuss with his associates again and let me know our next steps. I did not have time to repair the fiberglass on the gunnels yet and may wait until Yamaha makes a final decision on how to proceed. Boat is ready to use as is now.

Wondering if maybe the issue wasn’t the mounting, but maybe the tower is a bit wonky?

That was the service manager and my original thought. I guess the Yamaha rep directed otherwise. At least thus far.

Wish I was there!
If you were closer I would have said to pop on over and I’d pick you up at the dock! Fishing wasn’t very good, I should have pulled into a cove and bbq’d some hot dogs. I did crank up the tunes later in the afternoon and went for my usual spring around the lake before leaving..

Cold Memorial Day weekend, upper 40’s on the lake today. Our season has started. Making 7 kts during our 3 hour trip to our slip in Malletts Bay.
